Experience

Between 1998 and 2010, I worked for the H.W. Wilson Company, a U.S. educational and academic publisher. I began as a writer and progressed through the various editorial ranks to become Senior Editor in charge of the company’s Humanities Department, in which capacity I was responsible for the training of writers and editors as well as for meeting exacting weekly and monthly publishing targets. As Senior Editor, I was in charge of a team consisting of eight full-time staff, with additional freelance writers and editors as required. I have also worked as a public affairs consultant, specialising in the health and voluntary sectors; as a Senior Tutor in Philosophy and Ethics at University College Dublin; and as an administrator in the Quality, Risk and Consumer Affairs Department at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin.

To this process I also bring extensive experience as a manager (in the educational publishing sector), as an educator and as an administrator (in the health sector).
